Dynamic Tracking
In-depth cost information and customized data queries help you allocate printing costs to the appropriate parties, target waste and forecast future printing needs. The InPrinter Agent monitors multifunction printer activity inside the device for enhanced accuracy and greater accountability. In Printer Agent Add the In Printer Agent (IPA) to monitor HP LaserJet Printer and MFP activity directly at the device. By collecting data directly inside the printer or MFP, IPA gives you a precise accounting of device usage. Because this “in printer” solution is not reliant on SNMP traps or MIB polling, IPA offers improved accuracy and reliability over other tracking and data collection systems. Each time the printer or MFP finishes a job, IPA collects important data about the job and sends it to a HPAC server. The data can then be accessed by the HPAC JA Reporting Tool, providing meaningful analysis of printer and MFP activity. Report Options Administrators can create up to 310 individual queries/summary reports. Automatic Reporting Organizations can schedule reports to be sent automatically via email to personnel who require real time information. Report Access Automated reports delivered via e-mail. Access reports and custom queries via any Web browser. Customized Reports There are hundreds of customizable reports available to address specific questions and concerns about printer usage. Quota The HPAC Job Accounting quota module helps control costs by allowing administrators to set print page limits per user. Data Collected User I.D., user machine, pages processed, paper size, media type, number of copies, duplexing information, color/monochrome pages and more. OS Support Works with any operating system that uses TCP/IP to print via an NT print-server, such as Windows, UNIX, AS/400, or OS/2. System Requirements An HP LaserJet Printer or MFP with HP Jetdirect installed and functioning correctly on the system using a local (LPT1, USB) or TCP/IP port. Internet Information Services (IIS) is installed, or you have a Windows Setup CD. The latest version of the .NET Framework 2.0 is installed with the most current service pack. Installation files and updates are downloaded for .NET from www.microsoft.com, or from Microsoft Windows Update. You are logged onto the system as Administrator prior to installing the software.
